Shutters should look proportional.
This is why the width of every board in our board and batten shutters is customized to make your shutters look their best. While other shutter manufacturers limit your choice to 2 or 3 sizes of boards we have found this results in awkward looking shutters and shutters that usually do not fit your windows properly.
To avoid this design flaw we look at the overall size and purpose of your shutters to determine what will give your board and batten shutters both strength and beauty. As with all of our shutter designs should you have a specific board size in mind, or number of boards per shutter, just let us know.
Probably the oldest style of shutter still used today, board and batten shutters are often associated with Swiss chalets and rustic farmhouses. We offer the traditional styles of board and batten shutters with gaps between the boards as well as without gaps where the boards are joined by tongue and groove. We also build our board and batten shutters with an optional breadboard top to give them a true European flair.
